The project is inspired by the fact that Friesland receives less European funding to achieve its goals than other regions of the Netherlands. With European opportunities for fields such as education, innovation, health and sustainability, it’s a real shame that Friesland sometimes misses out – especially when we have the ability to do something about it! Therefore, it is a real must for Friesland to strengthen its position in Europe and work on more innovative projects along with partners from across the continent. That is why the municipalities of Súdwest-Fryslân and Leeuwarden and the Province of Fryslân decided to establish the project “Europe Ready Fryslân” with an aim to help the educational institutions, entrepreneurs and governments in Friesland to become more Europe-ready. Since 2021 is the start of the next European multiannual financial framework (2021-2027), working together to make the most of our place in the EU is becoming more important than ever.
So what exactly does this project do? This project is created by the cooperation between Learning Hub Friesland, the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân, Leeuwarden, Provincie Fryslân and NHLStenden University. It will guide you and, or your business through different workshops, assignments and meetings so in the end, you are able to work optimally at a European level and to write a complete European project application.
