In September, the NESSIE partners gathered on the Danish island of Samsø for our General Assembly, the perfect backdrop to reflect on community-led energy transition.

Over two days we:
✅ Set intentions with the IDOART framework
✅ Learned from Marcel Meijer, Mayor of Samsø, and Søren Hermansen, CEO of the Samsø Energiakademi, about how the island became a renewable energy pioneer
✅ Held regional and mixed-partner workshops, including hands-on recruitment planning using the NESSIE roadmap, led by NEC and Learning Hub
✅ Explored Samsø’s district heating plant and offshore wind park
✅ Shared meals, stories, and ideas that strengthened our collaboration

We left Samsø inspired, connected, and ready to take the next steps in building the skills and spaces for Europe’s energy transition workforce.

Thank you to Mathias Switzer Jakobsen and Alexis Chatzimpiros for hosting us at the Samsø Energiakademi, and to all our partners for attending!
