In the beginning of May, 2021 our partner in the project Craft Your Future – UPC Valencia, organized a 2-day online Makethon for us. The traininng was supposed to be in Valencia, but due to Covid-19 it became a 2-day online training, in which the students from each partner gathered and worked together. The student teams communicated via the computer screens.
The societal challenge they received was heat stress. Heat stress in a city is the result of stone-paved and walled cities with hardly any green (plants, flowers) to cool down during the hot days. The participating students come from 7 different schools in Spain, Bulgaria, and the Netherlands. During the two days, the teams work on their challenge in their own school Fablab. There were some inspiring speakers in between the days as well. In the end of the second day each team presented their prototype design with their concept and the making process. The training ended in joy and positivity.
